Read a page's numbers, tabs and charts
Understand what a page shows, from its sections, number cards, tabs, charts and tables to the (i) notes beside titles and pages about one record.
A page shows your records as sections of numbers, charts, tables and tabs. Every app arranges its pages differently, so this guide explains the parts, not one app's page. It applies on a computer and on a phone; the differences are noted.
Open a page from the links at the top of the app or from its menu. A record's page opens when you click the record: see Open a record.
Sections and the (i) notes
A page is split into sections, each with a title. An (i) beside a title holds a definition or a source, for example how a number is worked out. A list's title can have one too.
- On a computer, point at the (i) to read the note, or click it to keep the note open. A note that holds a link opens only when you click.
- On a phone, tap the (i).
- To close it, click or tap the (i) again or anywhere else, or press Escape.
Number cards
A row of cards gives the main numbers of a page or section. Each card's label says what it counts, for example the number of trees, or the total or average of a field.

- A label that ends in an asterisk (*) has a note. On a computer, point at the card to read it. These notes don't open on a phone.
- On some pages the cards follow a list on the same page: while you filter or search that list, they count only the records it shows. Clear the filter or search to count every record again.
Tabs
Tabs split a page into parts. Click or tap a tab to open it.
- When the tabs don't fit, the last ones move into a menu at the end of the row that shows how many more there are.
- The open tab is part of the page's address, so reloading the page or sending its link opens the same tab.
- Some tabs hide map layers that don't belong to them while they are open; leaving the tab usually brings the layers back. On a computer, a few tabs slide the map away to give the page the full width.
- Some tabs are for admins only.
Charts
Charts show how a number changes over time or how a total splits into parts.
- On a computer, point at a bar to see its values, or at a coloured part of a bar to see its share of the total.
- On a phone, tap a bar on a chart over time to see its values. A bar split into coloured parts shows its shares only on a computer; the names under it say what each colour is.
- Some charts have a menu above them to choose which number they show.
Tables inside a page
A page can hold two kinds of table:
- A list of records, with buttons above it to search, filter, sort and choose columns. It works like any list: see Filter, sort and save views of a list.
- A summary table, for example the number of trees for each status. When it has a title, More beside the title has Download CSV and Copy to clipboard. Some end with a row of totals, averages or highest values.
Pages about one record
A record's page, for example a site's, is about that record. Its numbers, charts and tables count that site and the records inside it, such as its trees, not every tree in the app.
When a list shows only the records inside one record, that record's name comes before the list's title, for example the site's name before Trees. An empty list says no trees were found for that site.
Why two pages can look different
A chart or table with nothing to show is left out, and some sections and tabs show only to some roles. So two sites' pages, or one page seen by a viewer and by an admin, can show different parts.
