Mission

Our mission is to be of service to the people and organizations restoring nature. We are here to provide them with the software tools they need to scale their forest restoration efforts, protect biodiversity, and mitigate climate change.

The Company

Restoration Scope is an intentionally independent software company that has been sustainable since its first month of existence. We chose this path so our true north would always remain focused on serving and creating value for those restoring nature, rather than prioritizing economic returns and growth.

The Founder

Hi, Bernat here. I founded Restoration Scope to put my skills in service of nature restoration, bring the best tools to those doing work on the ground, and build a resilient company that can last decades. Previously, I led the tech team at Earthshot Labs where we built technology to assess millions of hectares of ARR and REDD+ projects. Before that, I had spent 15 years building software products and companies.

Guiding Principles

Being of Service

Our work at Restoration Scope is rooted in service. We are here to serve those out there restoring the land—the people whose hands are in the soil, planting and nurturing. Everything we do comes from a place of supporting them, making their work a little easier and more impactful every day. This is not just a business for us; it's a way to genuinely empower the people doing the hard work of restoration.

Tree Time

Nature moves at its own pace –Tree time– not the speed of software releases or quarterly targets. Trees grow over years, and the land changes slowly. Our goal is to align our processes with the rhythm of nature, to make sure the tools we create aren’t rushing ahead, but are attuned to the gradual, deliberate pace of restoration. We believe in resilience—not just for ecosystems but for ourselves as a company. We want to be around for the long haul because the work of restoration takes decades, and our partners need to know we’ll be there to support them through every season.

Learning Together

Planting one tree is effortful, planting ten is hard, but coordinating hundreds to plant a million trees is an enormous undertaking. Scaling restoration requires each organization to navigate their own unique challenges. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach—each landscape, project, and group demands its own strategy. The technology supporting them must be just as adaptable, and those building it must work alongside partners, learning together with humility and dedication.
