Our long term goals are to halt soil erosion completely, build up a soil layer inside the forests, and provide habitat for wildlife. Additionally, we plan to provide firewood and timber for locals in self-managed forests, while allowing for Assisted Natural Regeneration at a later stage. We also seek to enable the growth of additional successor species within these forests, such as mushrooms, grasses, and mammals. While we cannot provide an exact number of benefitting species at this stage. Overall, our goal is to restore the local forests and create a better living environment for both people and wildlife.
This project is to employ community workers in nursery work, fencing, soil restoration activities, planting seedlings, and watering, as well as support girls with Girl Student Education. We will also provide education to workers on how to grow their own seedlings, build efficient cookstoves to save firewood, and protect the protected forest areas. Additionally, a majority of the paid workers will be female and it is estimated that 600 families will be supported by this initiative. Through this project, we hope to empower the community, benefit the environment, and create a better future for all.
