# Restoration Scope adapts to what serves your team best.

Last updated: 2026-10-20

Your data comes together in one place, and your team keeps the tools that work for them. There’s no year-long switch: start with the part that helps your team most, and move the rest when it’s better for you.

- Most teams are up and running in one week to one month
- Field data collection can start in week 1

[Try it on a sample of your data](https://cal.com/bernat/restoration-scope-initial-call). Free, with an NDA if you want one.

## Value now, the rest when it’s ready

The parts Restoration Scope already does well move first. The rest keep running in the tools your team uses today, and move when they’re ready. Nothing blocks the parts that are.

Restoration Scope publishes this page.

## Your systems stay connected

To make this work, Restoration Scope adapts to your systems. Data comes in from your tools and the Field App, lives in one project, and goes back out to the tools people already read.

- **One-time imports.** Bring in years of spreadsheets, maps and photos once.
- **Uploads as you go.** Add new files whenever they arrive.
- **Live sync.** Connect a source on a schedule or in real time, where the tool supports it.
- **Writing back.** Send records to a Google Sheets tab on a schedule, and edits back to Airtable.
- **Field data.** Our offline Field App, when your team wants it.

- Each team keeps its best tool
- Yes! We write back to your tools
- Your data stays yours

## Use what works for each team

Use Restoration Scope where it helps most, and keep the rest. We don’t ask you to fit into our system: we adapt to yours, and build what helps.

- Keep collecting in Kobo, and see the big picture in Restoration Scope dashboards and maps.
- Collect with our Field App, and keep reading the data in the spreadsheets your office knows.

## What comes with you

Spreadsheets, survey forms, maps and photos, past seasons included. Send them as they are. We don’t merge or drop records on a guess: the ones that look wrong are flagged for your team to decide.

Acción Andina brought **120 seasons of data** from **16 organizations** and **23 projects** into one system. [Read the case study](https://restorationscope.com/blog/accion-andina).

## Who does the work

We do the moving. You make the calls only your team can make.

### You

- Send your data as it is
- Name one lead who knows the operation and can make decisions
- Tell us which part matters most first
- Join setup meetings and review the records we flag
- Your lead trains the field team, with our help

### Restoration Scope

- Sign an NDA first, if you want one
- Bring your data in and connect the pieces
- Show you where the gaps are
- Set up quality checks for missing data and overlapping boundaries
- Set up records, maps and views for each team
- Train your lead

## Your first weeks

The pace depends on how quickly you send your data, whether you want an NDA first and how often we meet. Spend a full week with us and setup is done that week.

### Week 1

You bring your data and someone who can make decisions about it. We show you how it connects and where the gaps are, and field capture can start the same week.

### Weeks 2 to 4

Your team uses it on real work. We improve what doesn’t fit, add data quality checks and set up the next workflow.

### After the first month

Your team uses it every day, and we move on to the next part of your operation that matters most to you.

## Your data stays yours

We sign an NDA before you share anything, if you want one. Download any table or map as a spreadsheet or spatial file, whenever you want. Whoever you choose, us included, ask for a sample export of your own data before you sign. [How data moves in and out](https://restorationscope.com/platform/data).

## Common questions

### How long does it take to move to Restoration Scope?

Most teams are up and running in one week to one month. The pace depends on how quickly you send your data, whether you want an NDA first and how often we meet. After that, each part of your work moves over when it’s ready.

### Do we have to move everything at once?

No. Your systems stay in place and we move one part at a time. Parts we don’t cover yet keep running in the tools you use today, and move when they’re ready.

### Do we need to clean our data first?

No. Send it as it is. Messy data is normal: every organization we work with has some. We flag the records that look wrong for your team to decide, and quality checks keep catching new ones.

### Can we bring past seasons?

Yes. Send everything you have. Acción Andina brought 120 seasons of data from 16 organizations into one system.

### Will our field teams have to learn a new app?

Only if you want them to. Teams can keep the Kobo or ODK forms and spreadsheets they know, and their data keeps coming in. If you move them to our offline Field App, we train one lead on your team, who trains the field team.

### Can people keep working in spreadsheets?

Yes. Records can go to their own Google Sheets tab on a schedule. Your formulas and charts read from that tab, so they stay up to date while others use Restoration Scope.

### Who does the migration work?

We import and connect your data. Your lead joins setup meetings, reviews the records we flag and trains the field team. Bringing in your data is part of implementation in the Organization plan.

### Can we try it before we commit?

Yes. The free pilot imports a sample of your data, under an NDA if you want one, and shows you what the platform already does with it.

### Can we get our data out again?

Yes. Your data is yours. Any table or map view downloads as a spreadsheet or spatial file, whenever you want.
