# Change the language, sign out or delete your account

Last updated: 2026-10-27

> Switch the app's language, sign out without losing unsynced changes, and ask us to delete your account.

All three start from your app's logo in the top-left corner, on a computer or a phone.

## Change the language

Not every app has this: **Language** shows only in apps set up with more than one language. If you don't see it, ask us.

1. Click your app's logo.
2. Point at **Language**, or tap it on a phone.
3. Choose a language, for example **Español**. A check mark shows the one in use.

Menus and buttons switch straight away. Some labels may stay in English where there is no translation yet.

The app remembers your choice in this browser or on this phone. On another device, choose it again. Until you choose, the app uses your device's language if your app has it, and your app's default language if not.

## Sign out

Before you sign out, open the Sync Center and check that nothing is left to send: see [Check that your changes synced](https://restorationscope.com/docs/sync-center). Sign out only when everything has synced.

1. Click your app's logo.
2. Click **Sign out**, below your name and email.

The app first tries to send any changes still waiting, and shows "Saving unsynced changes before sign out…". Then it signs you out.

If some changes couldn't be sent, for example because you're offline, the app says how many are still saved on this device. They sync the next time you sign in on the same device, so don't uninstall the app or clear the browser in the meantime.

In the **RS Field** app, you may see **Sign out?**: signing out deletes any walk saved on the phone. If you have a walk you haven't finished and saved yet, tap **Cancel** and save it first (see [Draw a boundary, line or point on the map](https://restorationscope.com/docs/draw-shapes)). Tap **Sign out anyway** only when you're sure.

## Delete your account

Deleting your account closes it for every Restoration Scope app you use. You can't undo it from the app. Before it signs you out, the app sends the changes still waiting on your device, photos included. Anything it can't apply goes to us, so your work isn't lost.

1. Stay online, and check that every change has synced: see [Check that your changes synced](https://restorationscope.com/docs/sync-center). Once you ask for deletion you can't sign in again to send anything later.
2. Click your app's logo, then **Settings**.
3. If your account page isn't already open, choose **Profile & account** in the sidebar. On a phone, first tap the sidebar button beside the settings page title. If you see **No access to this settings section** without that button, open the app on a computer and follow these steps there.
4. Click **Delete account**.
5. Type `DELETE` in the box.
6. Click **Delete my account**.

You're signed out. Your account is scheduled for deletion, and signing in with it shows "This account is scheduled for deletion and cannot be used to sign in." If you did this by mistake, contact us.
